Paul, newcomer from Hong Kong since March this year. He has been volunteering with CCSS and teaching some music summer classes. He also joined the employment program at CCSS to enhance his job search and interview skills. A non-profit organization has officially hired him as a worker starting this August.

Below is his testimonial: "Since my joining in CCSS in 2024 March as team member, I feel more like home within my community. Through helping the centre, I feel like helping out the community since the centre reaches out to the public. I feel much fulfilment as my skill sets are much appreciated in the centre, as I am writing music and ran a music workshop in the centre.
Besides that, helping the centre to do clerical work and mobilisation work is also a new experience to me. It’s a fun and memorable experience. As I participate in various events, I met more people and made more friends.
I’m definitely recommending people to join us as it would be a memorable experience worth sharing."

Hi, my name is Joe. When I first arrived in Vancouver, I was unsure where to start my job search and felt lost in a new environment. Joining the Job Search Strategy workshop on July 16th was a turning point for me. The workshop was thoughtfully prepared, with clear and detailed explanations that made the entire process of job searching much less daunting. The practical advice and strategies provided were not just helpful—they were essential in guiding me through the Vancouver job market.
A special thanks to Kevin (one of speakers in workshop), who offered a one-on-one HR interview training session that truly made a difference. His insights and personalized feedback gave me the confidence I needed to tackle interviews with much more ease.
As CCSS celebrates its 50th anniversary, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the support and guidance the organization has provided. The help I received has been invaluable, and I’m truly thankful for the role CCSS has played in helping me find my way in this new chapter of my life.
